Investigation of Mechanical and Damping Performances of Cylindrical Viscoelastic Dampers in Wide Frequency Range

This paper aims to develop viscoelastic dampers, which can effectively suppress vibration in a wide frequency range. First, several materials for damping performance were selected, and different batches of cylindrical dampers fabricated by overall vulcanization. Second, the dynamic mechanical properties under amplitudes frequencies are tested, hysteretic curves loading conditions obtained. Finally, calculating energy dissipation these is compared analyzed. The experimental results show that damper presents full curve range, maximum loss factor reach 0.57. Besides, equivalent stiffness, storage modulus, factor, consumption per cycle raise with increasing, while decreases increase frequency. When displacement increases, rises rapidly, damping, change slightly.
